Dr Julian Gray MA DPhil MBBS MRCP (UK) MFPM MBA, is a physician with 20 years of experience in drug development in Europe and the US.After preclinical studies in Oxford where he obtained his BA with first class honours, he completed his medical training at University College, London.
He subsequently worked in clinical positions for 7 years in internal medicine, clinical pharmacology and neurology, during which time he obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and completed a D.Phil (PhD) at the University of Oxford.
He joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1988, working for eight years in international drug development at Sandoz and Roche in Basel. During this period he completed an MBA with distinction at Oxford Brookes University and became a Member of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians before moving to positions in the biotechnology industry in the US for three years.
After returning to Europe, in 2000 he became CNS Therapeutic Area Head for Eisai Ltd in London, a position which involved managing global development projects. He has extensive experience in teaching, and is a member of the teaching faculty of the European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine in Basel and Specialist in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
Recently he has founded Neuroglobe, a company dedicated to the development of CNS drugs, and is actively engaged in developing new neurological treatments globally.
